School Photographers & Assistants

Based in Brookvale
advancedlife is a national photographic company specialising in School Photography for over 35 years. We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic people to join our busy photographic team in our NSW Branch, based in Brookvale on the Northern Beaches..


We are looking for people interested to be trained as group photographers and as portrait photographers/assistants. These in-the-field roles require both working independently and as part of the team. All equipment and uniforms are supplied. You will receive full training in late January in order to start work in school Term 1.


These casual positions will be up to 5 days work per week, with time off during and around school holidays. The opportunity for permanent employment exists for the right candidates.

The successful candidate will:

School Photographers & Assistants Adeliade

Based in Adelaide

Busy, challenging and lots of variety!


advancedlife is a national school photography company operating for over 35 years and with branches across Australia.


The positions commence mid-January 2019 and are casual, 3 - 5 days per week, with time off during and around school holidays.


Our Adelaide Branch is looking for friendly, well organised, energetic people to join our team as school portrait photographers and assistants. You will be expected to carry out portrait and possibly some group photography, as well as to assist photographers when required. You will be involved in School Photography, School Formals, Sport and Corporate photography. We provide all equipment, uniform and paid training.


The following is required:

  • Be interested in developing a career in photography
  • An ability to communicate with a diverse range of personality types
  • The ability to work to strict time schedules
  • An eye for detail
  • The ability to work as part of a team, as well as an individual
  • Current Australian driving licence
  • Be of neat and tidy appearance
  • You are required to secure your own DSCI and OCHRE clearance in order to be able to work in the school environment. Details of how to apply will be provided if you are offered the role
  • Should be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Be able to spend up to four weeks away three times per year, as we also photograph in the Northern Territory


The following are desirable:

  • A knowledge of photography
  • Basic computer knowledge

Jobs require early starts and some late finish times (we do not work just school hours) and there is some overnight travel.

Casual School Portrait Photographers & Assistants – Northern Queensland

Based in Townsville
advancedlife is a national photographic company specialising in School Photography for over 35 years. We are seeking energetic, well presented, enthusiastic, organised people to join our Northern Queensland photographic team in a casual capacity, based in Townsville, but also servicing schools in Mackay and Cairns.


You will be trained as portrait photographers and portrait assistants in mid-January 2019 to start work in school Term 1. These casual positions will be up to 5 days work per week, with time off during and around school holidays.


Please note that this is not a school hours role - the hours can be much longer and frequent overnight travel is involved.

Equipment, training and uniform will be supplied. Photographic experience preferred, however we will train the right people.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess a high degree of initiative and superior organisational skills
  • Be focussed on delivering exceptional service to our customers
  • Enjoy working with children of all ages
  • Enjoy working in a physically active role
  • Work well in a team environment and independently

We are looking for people interested to be trained as group photographers and as portrait photographers and assistants. You will be paid to attend training from 21 January 2019, in order to start work in school Term 1.

Account Manager Brisbane

Based in Brisbane
advancedlife has been the leader in School Photography for 35 years. We are a successful, stable family owned business that truly values its people.


We are seeking an experienced, motivated and highly organised sales professional to join our busy QLD Branch in Mansfield as a Client Manager, to service existing accounts and support our valuable client base in Brisbane and south.


This full-time role focuses on retention and service – managing, maintaining and extending our relationships with existing clients. We offer our customers photography, print and design services, so you would be on the road visiting our existing customers and securing their additional spend across our services..

Reporting directly to the QLD Sales Manager, some of your responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and attending meetings with existing and newly attained school customers (that have been secured by our separate Sales team)
  • Providing excellent service to manage and retain our customer relationships
  • Promoting the range of print & design services offered by the company
  • Representing the company at School conferences and events
  • Actively maintaining our customer database
  • Liaising effectively with our in-house Customer Service team to ensure we deliver great service and exceed customer expectations
  • Delivering great service and follow up
  • Operating effectively independently and as part of a small team
  • Working one day a week from the Brisbane branch office in Mansfield and the rest of the time in your territory
The successful candidate will have:

  • Client account management and negotiation experience from being 'on the road' doing face-to-face sales
  • A positive, solution-based sales technique
  • A warm, friendly personality and professional presentation
  • A commitment to customer service and building relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to manage and prioritise their time and be highly organised

Administration and Co-Ordination role Brisbane

Based in Mansfield
advancedlife has been the leader in School Photography for 35 years.We are seeking a computer-literate, highly organised and reliable person to join our Brisbane team and contribute to the smooth operation of our branch in Mansfield.


The role involves being the liaison point between the Brisbane and Sydney teams, taking responsibility for the efficient transfer of job assets to our central production point in Sydney, and for the local production of ID cards, set up of job bags for field staff, and various other administrative tasks as required. Working in a small administrative team, you will need to be able to manage your time, understand the importance of internal and external customer service, and have the ability to set and meet deadlines.


This seasonal casual role reports to and works in partnership with our QLD Branch Manager and will require you to be available 5 days per week from 14 November until 14 December 2018 for training, and then from 21 January to December 2019.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be highly organised, with great time management
  • Be computer literate and able to easily learn new systems
  • Have excellent verbal and written skills, and an eye for detail
  • Be able to meet tight deadlines and prioritise work
  • Understand the importance of keeping internal and external customers happy

School Photographers & Assistants Melbourne

advancedlife is a national photographic company with over 3 decades of experience.


The role starts with training in Mid-January 2019, with an induction day in December. This Photography role is of a casual/seasonal nature, 4-5 days per week with time off during school holidays.


We are on the hunt for well organised & motivated individuals to join our successful team. You may be expected to carry out a range of photography including portrait and group photography.
